CCUMC Membership Benefits

Annual Conferences

Hear informative, stimulating speakers present information on various professional topics at annual conferences sponsored by CCUMC. The conference includes an on-site visit to a member institution's media/instructional technology center. Members are invited to host and evaluate all conferences. Conference proceedings are distributed to members. Upcoming conference location:

Fall 2010
Buffalo, NY
University at Buffalo
October 6-10, 2010

Interest Groups and Networking

A major strength of the consortium is the willingness of its members to openly share ideas and information both informally through e-mail and phone calls and formally through Interest Group sessions at conferences. The focus of each group changes as members' needs dictate. Current Interest Groups include Emerging Technologies, Management, Administration and Services, Collection Development and Management, Instructional Design, Leadership and Small Institutions. Additionally,  the CCUMC LISTSERV (link to the page about the LISTSERV) and the members only section of this web site allows members to network with colleagues electronically throughout the year.

Research Awards

Faculty, staff, and students at constituent member institutions are eligible to apply for the annual $2,000 Research Awards Program. Research reports are presented at conferences or published in the College & University Media Review.

Publications

The Leader, the CCUMC newsletter, is published three times a year and the College & University Media Review, our peer-reviewed journal, is published annually. These publications include in-depth articles, consortium news, and features on higher educational media issues. A membership directory, annual report, and conference proceedings are also published.
