Guidelines for and Duties of the Interest Group Coordinator
The interest group coordinator will be a member of the board of directors who does not hold another office and will be appointed by the president for a two-year term.
The interest group coordinator is co-chair of the Program Committee.
The duties of the interest group coordinator are as follows:
- To ensure that the responsibilities regarding interest groups are met.
- To act as liaison with the board as they regard purposes, functions, and goals of interest groups.
- To consider observations and topics reported by interest group chairs as a result of environmental scanning efforts and act as a liaison between the group and the appropriate venue for additional discussion or reporting (electronic list, editor of a publication, research committee, executive office, etc.)
- Prior to CCUMC conferences, to reinforce with interest group chairs the need to meet any deadlines established by the Proceedings editor for submission of information concerning program sessions.
- Prior to CCUMC conferences, communicate the theme of next year's conference, which was approved at the summer board meeting, to interest group chairs so that their groups can discuss possible program topics at the current fall conference.
