In March 2002, activity related to reports (such as the Copyright Office's DMCA Section 104 study) and to pending legislation (such as the Consumer Broadband and Digital Television Promotion Act, or CBDTPA), occasioned public calls for comment on concerns related to existing and pending copyright law that addresses intellectual property in the digital environment.
