KlassTech Presentation Systems

KlassTech Presentation Systems, designed by an AV veteran to provide a fully integrated, trouble-free media centers, demonstrated their product line at the annual conference in Austin. KlassTech, a CCUMC sponsor, produces three models that feature furniture-quality hardwood cabinetry with industry-standard components that are preassembled to user specifications, intuitive touch screen menu, and 24/7 real time tech support and security monitoring. Robert Schmitt, who serves as a consultant for KlassTech, says the system was built from frustration over the years of trying to find the best solution for classroom instructors. “I designed this for me, basically. I wanted something that would eliminate expansion problems. I know the problems of finding the right solution. I’ve had contractors come in and build a unit on site, but there’s no continuity or system if you want to order more down the road. You lose control over how it’s built. With KlassTech products, you get the same unit, assembled with the same components exactly the way the last one was designed.”

The KlassTech line is produced by a Portland, Oregon, company with 20 years of custom, high-end manufacturing. There are three products: mobile, stationary, and desk solution. The Presenter is the standard, mobile model. The Professional is nearly the same, except in a vertical wall cabinet. The Instructor is a desk model, ideal for classrooms and labs. All models are fully integrated systems with easy, front access to power outlets, touch screen control with real time support, annotation monitor with full motion articulating arm, and a slide out keyboard and mouse tray. The cabinetry is precisionroutered from 5-ply maple construction; side shelves are ADA compliant. Conference attendees were most impressed, however, with what lies beneath the cabinetry. A wide door allows easy access to the components, which are securely fastened with four post rack mounts. Comprehensive wire management has organized what is commonly a snarled mess. Large ventilation holes ensure the equipment runs optimally. Each unit comes preassembled and programmed to each customer’s specifications, and is securely crated for shipment. KlassTech provides factory technical assistance, but hasn’t had to offer much help. “The system is pretty intuitive and complete. Staff can install a fully equipped programmed system in less than a day,” says Charles Doyle, Troxell representative.
